Returns & Refunds Policy
Last updated: 2 October 2026
Draft policy. This is placeholder text written in plain language for a local marketplace. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change before KhojKhobor's public launch.
KhojKhobor doesn't take orders or bookings. It lists local shops and services: you call, WhatsApp or message the shop or provider, and agree the order, delivery and payment with them. What this page says about orders, payments and returns on KhojKhobor applies only to orders placed here before.
On KhojKhobor you pay the shop directly, by UPI or cash on delivery. That means refunds also come directly from the shop. KhojKhobor never holds your money, so we can't issue refunds ourselves, but we set the rules shops agree to and we follow up if something goes wrong.
1. Cancellations
- You can cancel an order from My Orders until it is shipped (while it is Pending payment, Confirmed or Packed).
- If you already paid by UPI, the shop refunds the full amount, including any delivery fee.
- A shop may cancel an order, for example if the item is out of stock. Any amount you paid is refunded in full.
- Unpaid UPI orders are cancelled automatically after the payment window. Nothing is charged.
2. Return window
Each product shows its return window under Services on the product page (for example, “10 Days Return Policy”). The window starts on the day the order is delivered. Products marked “No returns on this item” can't be returned unless they arrive damaged, defective or wrong.
3. What can be returned
To be eligible, the item should be:
- unused, in the same condition you received it, with tags, accessories, manuals and original packaging;
- returned within the window shown for that product.
Items that are usually not returnable for hygiene or safety reasons, unless damaged or wrong, include:
- groceries, food, sweets and other perishables;
- opened personal care, beauty and innerwear products;
- customised or made-to-order items.
4. Damaged, defective or wrong items
If an item arrives damaged, defective, incomplete or different from what you ordered, contact the shop from your order page as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours of delivery, with photos. The shop should offer a replacement or a full refund.
5. How to request a return
- Open the order in My Orders and choose Return. Tell us the reason.
- The shop contacts you to arrange a pickup, or asks you to drop the item at the shop if that's easier for you.
- The shop checks the item and accepts the return. Your order shows Return requested and then Returned.
6. Refunds
- UPI orders: the shop sends the refund by UPI, normally to the UPI ID you paid from.
- Cash on Delivery orders: the shop refunds in cash on pickup, or by UPI to an ID you provide.
- Shops are expected to refund within 7 days of accepting a return or cancellation. Your order shows Refund pending and then Refunded.
- Delivery fees are refunded when an order is cancelled before shipping, or when the return is due to a damaged, defective or wrong item.
7. If something goes wrong
Contact the shop first; its phone number is on your order page. If the shop doesn't respond or doesn't honour this policy, email [email protected] with your order number. We'll follow up with the shop, and shops that repeatedly fail to refund customers may be suspended from KhojKhobor. See also Grievance Redressal.
